Portland Trip

I was informed this past weekend that there are those out there that are
tired of looking at my favorite bag. :)
I've reached that point too...due to techinal difficulties and
technology laziness, it's been a week since I've updated my blog.
Now it's time to play catchup.
~~~
The kids had a four day weekend last weekend, so we took a
trip to Portland. The photo above is Emma waiting for it be time
to leave...she was a little anxious.
Beautiful Mt. Hood hiding behind the clouds.
We have driven by Multnomah Falls sooo many times over the ten years
that we lived in Portland. However, we haven't stopped there since
Ryan was still in a backpack carrier. Since we had a little extra time,
we stopped to show the kids the falls.
We spent the weekend at Greg and Holli's. The kids
had a great time playing with Jordan. Holli and I sneaked in a bit of shopping.
It was very nice to get to spend some time with them.
Enjoying a bit of Frozen Yogurt from "Divine's" in Clackamas.
Lesson learned: At Divine's, you add any toppings you want
and pay by the ounce. Both kids' eyes were much bigger than their tummies.
We ended up throwing half of our $17 treat away.
We spent Friday in Beaverton seeing old friends.
Emma and Lucas have been friends since they met in 2005.
Ryan and Yesmin (Lucas' older sister) were in the same preschool, and the little ones
would play while we waited for school to be out. When we still lived in Beaverton, they
spent ALOT of time together. Each time we see them now, it takes about two minutes for them to get over their shyness, and then they are back to their old fun and games.
At Washington Square
I snuck a couple of photos of Jenny's flower...gorgeous!
Emma and Bob
Wheeee!!!
On Friday evening, we met Betty and the boys at Safari Sams in
Sherwood. Ryan and Zack have been the best of friends since they
met when they were two. I think that the move was hardest for the kids...they left
so many close friends behind. Bob and I did, too, but it's a bit easier on the adults, I think.
Relaxing at Greg and Holli's
It rained across the entire state of Oregon on the way home.
Sometimes it was a sprinkle...others a downpour.
It was nice to have a reminder of why we don't really miss
living there. It did provide some beautiful
photos, though. This was out of Baker City.
About 30 miles from the Oregon/Idaho border, the clouds went away and the
sun began to shine. By the time we got home, it was a beautiful, clear, dry Fall day.
It's good to be home!
