Our Weekend

Blogger decided to cooperate, so here are some pics from our weekend.
I'm able to enjoy the roses Bob got for me last week in another form...
they are beautiful dried!

We had some special houseguests over the weekend.  The kids thoroughly enjoyed spending some time with Cheryl and Jeanie.  Emma and Cheryl made different creations with her Magnetix toys, and Ryan tried his hardest to beat Jeanie at both pool and air hockey.

Emma has been in a music class since September.  It's called "Let's Play Music."  It's a three year program, and at the end of the three years she'll be playing piano at an intermediate level, be able to compose music and be fluent in music theory.  While having a ton of fun, she's learned a lot this year.  She had her recital on Saturday...and did great.  She had a duet on the tone bells and played all the right notes!  (I've tried numerous times to upload the videos of her solo and of Ryan's solo, but it's just not working).

The recital hall happened to be right next to a wonderful bakery, so we headed there after the recital.  On the way, though, we got a bit distracted with the way the sun was making these tulips simply glow!

And, since we had company and would have help eating it, I decided it was
the perfect weekend for an apple pie.  Yum!

We enjoyed a bit of sunshine on Saturday afternoon and took a walk in our nearby nature park.  Jeanie and Emma had a bit of fun stirring up the ants.  :)
