Our Weekend ~ Part One

We were invited to this sweet little munchin's two-year birthday party
this past weekend, so we went a day early to help Mom and Dad on the farm.
(More pics from the party tomorrow...)
Mom posted about her lilacs last week, and I was so glad to get to experience
the wonderful fragrance before it was gone. When we were kids, there was a screen door in the back of the house. On really hot nights, all four kids would sleep on the floor in front of the screen door. Just about ten feet from the screen door were three lilac bushes. The breeze would carry the scent in as we were drifting off to sleep. It was wonderful!
This is one of the scents the remind me of my childhood.

Here's the work crew on Friday evening.
We got a lot accomplished in the yard...it felt so good. So good in fact, that I could carely move on Sunday morning. :)
The kids were a big help. They were out with us all evening on Friday and on Saturday morning until it was time to leave for the birthday party. I love that they
enjoy yard work and helping out Hop and Nana.
We have more pics from the weekend, but they are on Mom's camera.
Some of Bob working...some of the kids having a little fun. It wasn't all work and no play.
I'll post them this weekend once I have the pics downloaded.

If your a Facebook reader, you might have read my note that we were
headed to the work on the farm and that we'd were going to get the kids as dirty as possible.
This is Emma just as we started. :)
We were a little early getting to Mom and Dad's, so we stopped in town to get the kids
some icecream. Just as we got to the house, Emma dropped her swirled ice cream cone right down the front of her. I must have missed it, but it appears that she immediately got out of the car and started eating dirt. :)

Nothing better than dirt for dinner!

It was a most lovely weekend for yard work. Now, if you need some more, my garden seems to be sprouting weeds all over after all the sunshine...
