Meet Carly

Emma's dear, sweet friend Ember turned six last week. She loves the purple
CareBear that Emma has and really wanted one of her own. I looked and looked and finally discovered, after finding an 8" CareBear on the Internet for $40, that they are no longer being made. Sigh....once again they've taken away one of my favorite toys! Anyway,
Cassie assured us that any purple bear would do, and we finally found one at Build-A-Bear. It's purple, sparkly and apparently from a TV show called "i-Carly." Since the name is embroidered on the bottom of her foot, we decided to name her Carly. Carly is currently residing in our home, anxiously anticipating her delivery to Ember's arms this Saturday.
Found her!

Putting in the stuffin'

Is she huggable enough?

Making a wish for Ember

Giving Carly's heart a kiss before putting it inside her.

Washing...cleaning...

...gotta get that back clean!

Does this look good on her?

Getting all dressed up.

Naming her and making her birth certificate.

All done!
And that is how you thoroughly enjoy making a gift for your friend
when you're five...well, five and three quarters.

How fun! My Mom has been wanting to take the grandkids to Build-A-Bear. But she wants to wait until they're old enough to really enjoy the experience. Jacob is almost there. I'm sure Emma's friend will just LOVE the bear!

I think Emma may have to take Nana to build a bear!
